Kay Bouvet has been awarded the prestigious contract for manufacturing and supply of Calandria assemblies and associated components for GHAVP 1&2 by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL).
This makes Kay Bouvet 1 of only 4 companies in India qualified to manufacture the Calandria, which is one of the most critical components of a nuclear reactor.
The Calandria is the horizontal cylindrical vessel at the core of the reactor assembly with two end shields at both ends. It is one of the most challenging projects in the nuclear reactor, having a diameter of 8 meters and wall thickness of 32 mm of S.S. 304L, with 122 nozzles welded to the shell.
