Description

Two types of accumulator tanks for the reactor emergency core cooling system were manufactured.

Light water accumulator tanks inject light water into the primary heat transport circuit during a loss of coolant accident to prevent core meltdown. Air/Nitrogen accumulator tanks inject nitrogen into the PHT circuit to raise the pressure.

The number of tanks for each reactor were:

1. Light water accumulator tanks: 4
2. Air accumulator tanks: 2
